Forth Environment Link (FEL) are delighted to be able to host two new Project Support Officer roles, in partnership with Clackmannanshire Council and the Young Person’s Guarantee Scheme from Scottish Government. One role will be positioned within our Active Travel team and the other in our Reuse and Repair and Food and Growing teams. The roles will support our project delivery teams to help deliver funded projects which aim to act on Climate Change through helping people to; cycle & walk more, reuse and upcycle more, and grow and eat more local food. Both roles are positioned at entrant job level and pay the living wage.
This post is funded through the Scottish Government’s Young Person’s Guarantee. To apply for this post, you must be aged 18 – 24, live in Clackmannanshire and not be currently participating in employment or education such as college or university.
Position 1:
Role: Project Support Officer for Active Travel
Salary: Scale: £17,290.00
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week * Given Covid restrictions will accommodate flexible working patterns, we understand that people have different home responsibilities presently.
Contract type: Fixed term initially until 31st March 2022, extension to contract subject to the confirmation of additional funding
Location: Anticipated that the early part of this year will be home working, as restrictions ease it will be a blended model of home working, office-based work and outreach activity. Locations for outreach will include Lornshill Academy and communities across Clackmannanshire. Our main offices are Cameron House, Forthside Way, Stirling and Falkirk Active Travel Hub, 203 High St, Falkirk, the role will also require travel across the Forth Valley area.
About the role
The role will support the Active Travel Schools Officer in delivery of our Active Travel Schools Programme. This includes supporting the walking and cycling needs of pupils and staff at the Lornshill Academy Hub as well as supporting our Bike Medic project where you will learn how to fix and maintain e-bikes. The Project Support Officer will also be expected to help with wider FEL activity, including assisting in developing our work with Young People, to develop new services and ideas, as well as supporting our emerging youth board.
The role will provide experience and personal development within the following areas:
· Climate Change
· Youth Work
· E-Bike repair and maintenance
· Active Travel
· Community engagement

About the role
To support the Reuse Project Officer in delivery of our Revive Wood Skills Programme and Climate Kitchen Garden project. Our Wood Skills Programme supports the reuse and upcycling of mainly second-hand wood into things like household furnishings, raised beds and outdoor furniture. The Climate Kitchen Garden project aims to support people to grow more of their food and get better access to local food. The Project Support Officer, will also be expected to help with wider FEL activity, including assisting n developing our work with Young People, to develop new services and ideas, as well as supporting our emerging youth board.
This role will provide experience and personal development within the following areas:
· Climate Change
· Youth Work
· Reuse and Repair
· Local Food
· Community engagement

Eligibility Criteria:
· You must be between the ages of 18 – 24 to qualify for these roles
· You must live in Clackmannanshire
· You must not be participating in employment or education, such as college or university
As of midnight on 1st March 2021, the application deadline has now passed. Applications received after the deadline may not be considered.
Interviews dates are to be confirmed: likely week commencing 15th March 2021, via video call.
The Interview panel consist of a Development Manager, and the Project Officer supporting each role. Interviews last about 40 minutes, there will be set questions, and we ask that each candidate, create a 1-minute video detailing what excites them about this role. There will be time at the end to ask the panel any questions you may have.
